EventBug

An event amplifier

2013 – 2014

Designed and run in collaboration with Matteo Menapace (It/UK).

EventBug is an event amplifier—an experimental crowd-documentation twitter-based game—that archives events visually and in written form. Participants collectively create a collage of things they have made, seen, heard, learned and talked about at an event. Participants play via Twitter using a hashtag such as #oppibug or #mozbug while they help to create the event’s digital archive (via social media). The game awards points for each entry (tweet) and gives a prize to a winner with most points. The game is an amorphous format and serves festival’s needs encouraging participation and help create the final product—the digital archive.

Experimented at: Mozilla Festival 2013 and 2014 in London, UK; Oppi Festival 2014 in Helsinki, Finland.
