O’Paraiso & O’Duro

A diptych of pilgrimage ways on Camino de Santiago

2016 & 2017

In collaboration with Una (Si/Hr)

The O’Paraiso—a 29-day 867km journey from Saint-Jean-Peid-de-Port, France to Finisterre, Spain via Pamplona, Logrono, Burgos, Leon and Santiago de Compostela— and the O’Duro—a 13-day 325km journey from Oviedo to Santiago de Compostela via Lugo—are physical endurance walking journeys of drawing in space over time. During the the journeys across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago—first on the Camino France, the second on Camino Primitivo—tested our physical and mental endurance while creating a rich backdrop of thought and tested results. Journey data, visual documentation, written impressions, networks, and experiences have been documented in two-part artist books including text, images, maps and walked lines over landscape.
